Cereal and the summer.
Tuesday, April 29th, 2008I’ve never been one for breakfast time. I always feel so groggy in the morning. I didn’t ever really eat that much cereal at all until I went to stay in the states for a couple of months in 2006. A good sugary cereal is always the best. Here are some of my very favourite……
When I got back from the states I went through a pretty rough withdrawal faze and pretty much hit rock bottom because the art of cereal eating is mixing it up from day to day or week to week. Ricicles being the only available cereal from my Top5 here in Ireland, it was a tough time. After months of mundane cereal eating I realised that there is this store off Georges Street that sells american groceries. The selection changes from week to week but they’ll generally have one of my top5 in there or some shit like Golden or Cinnamon Grahams.
I finished college there last friday so I’ve only some exams and I’m scott free from the 14th of May. The summer is going to be well hectic and I’ll probably be delighted for some structure come September. First of all I’ll be away for around 3 weeks with First Death in the Uk which is going to an unreal experience. Getting to see Guns Up! twice in two days is an amazing thing for me. The standard of the shows we’re playing is so high and I’ just generally excited to see bands like Dirty Money, Meltdown, Deal With It and Bitter End among others.
After tour I’ll be heading to Santa Barbara in July to see Sound & Fury. The fest is going to be amazing because Sinking Ships will be playing their last show there and it’ll make the whole thing alot more special. I’m excited to see Terror and to go to SanFrancisco to buy cd’s and hang out with my brah Nelly. Olivia’s heading to Vancouver for 3 and a half weeks so she is going to start in San Fran so we can all hang out. I’m getting this for my 21st birthday present which is cool of my ma and da. Ieper late in the summer will be all time - RUINER & SHOOK ONES.
Other than festivals and messing I’ll just be working. I’m really excited for the summer. I’ve never got the buzz of going to an American or Canadian city for three months with everybody you know form home. This just isn’t my idea of an adventure. My idea of an adventure is eating in Little Chef twice a day and getting lost on some nameless motorway somewhere between Norwich and Colchester while looking for a Travelodge.
I was listening to Here Comes a Regular by the Replacements while writing this. That my friends is a choon.
